Copyright and Image Use Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
This Copyright and Image Use Policy explains how images, graphics, text, logos, files and other content are handled by Pixar Yard Studio.
By working with us, sending us content, or approving content for use on your website or project, you agree to this policy.
1. Client-Supplied Content
The client is responsible for making sure they have the right to use any content they provide to us.
This includes:
- images
- logos
- videos
- written text
- icons
- graphics
- fonts
- documents
- product photos
- staff photos
- screenshots
- brand materials
By sending us any content, you confirm that you either own it, have permission to use it, or have a valid licence for it.
2. No Unauthorised Images
We will not knowingly use images copied from Google, social media, another website, or any other source unless there is clear permission or a valid licence.
Just because an image is available online does not mean it is free to use.
3. Stock Images and Free Image Libraries
Where suitable, we may use images from stock image websites, free image libraries or design platforms.
The use of these images depends on the licence terms of the image provider.
Some images may be free for commercial use, while others may require payment, attribution, restrictions on editing, or special permission.
If paid stock images, premium graphics, fonts or other licensed materials are needed, the client is responsible for approving and paying for them unless agreed otherwise in writing.
4. Proof of Licence
The client should keep proof of ownership, permission or licence for any images or materials they provide.
This may include:
- receipts
- licence documents
- photographer agreements
- written permission
- stock image download records
- brand ownership documents
We may ask for proof of licence before using certain content.
5. Responsibility for Client Content
If a client provides content that later causes a copyright, trademark, privacy or image-rights complaint, the client is responsible for that content.
The client agrees not to hold Pixar Yard Studio responsible for claims that arise from content supplied or approved by the client.
6. Content We Create
Any original design work, website layout, written content, graphics or other materials created by us remain our property until the client has paid all agreed fees in full.
After full payment is received, the client may use the final approved work for the agreed purpose.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, we may keep ownership of unused concepts, drafts, design ideas, working files, templates, code snippets, internal processes and rejected versions.
7. Third-Party Materials
Some parts of a website or project may use third-party tools or materials.
This may include:
- fonts
- icons
- plugins
- themes
- templates
- stock photos
- software
- website builders
- hosting platforms
- analytics tools
These third-party materials remain subject to their own licence terms. The client must follow those licence terms.
8. Editing and Reusing Images
Some image licences allow editing, cropping or resizing. Others may limit how the image can be changed or reused.
We will try to use images in a reasonable and professional way, but the final responsibility for approving image use belongs to the client where the image is supplied or selected by the client.
9. People in Images
If the client provides photos of people, such as staff, customers, patients, students or members of the public, the client is responsible for making sure they have permission to use those images on the website or project.
This is especially important for sensitive industries such as healthcare, education, events and community work.
10. Copyright Complaints
If someone claims that content on a website or project infringes their rights, the client should notify us as soon as possible.
We may temporarily remove or replace the disputed content while the issue is reviewed.
If the disputed content was supplied or approved by the client, any cost of replacing it, redesigning the affected section or dealing with the complaint may be charged to the client.
11. Our Portfolio Use
Unless the client requests otherwise in writing, we may display completed project screenshots, links or summaries in our portfolio, social media, proposals or marketing materials.
We will not knowingly share private login details, confidential business information or sensitive client information.
12. Contact
For copyright, image-use or content concerns, contact us through the contact page or WhatsApp enquiry flow.
